This was a couple of days ago and was just enough to coat the lawn lightly. It truly was beautiful and Chuck was off and home for the first time to see the snow fall out here. He is usually working when it does happen to snow, which isn't too often. We did enjoy it very much together. Today I share a few pictures and a video of our view from here.

Earl, Darrell and Wendell
Earl played baseball for a few well known teams and has been a painter for years like his family. Darrell tells me he has been a maintenance man with Shaw Air Force Base, worked for The Department of Transportation with schools and also has done vinyl siding and carpentry work. Wendell played football, was a cook/chef in restaurants as a Grill master for 15 years! I told him we should have had him cooking us some steaks up on those grills in the back yard. Heaven knows Darrell lucked up because had I known all of this time he was a carpenter, let's just say he would have been much more busy!
They are talking on the front porch that they painted so beautifully. Today I'm sharing the painting of our master bedroom and my closet.

Good morning and how are you? Fine I hope. Today my thoughts are on growing something. The weather here is undoubtedly strange this year. The temperature predictions for today will be in the 80s! Actual prediction high 86 degrees! I think I'll hold off on planting some things because if history can be taken into account we will have a cold snap. Talking gardening today.

Lenoir Country Store Post Office
Horatio, South Carolina
Last November Chuck and I took a ride to Horatio, South Carolina. I had read about this store being one of the oldest in South Carolina and if some records are true the oldest in the nation

Today's post came to mind from seeing a meme on Facebook with an elderly lady sweeping her yard. Yes, sweeping the yard was a common thing back in the day. I as a child watched my grandmas and Aunt Fannie sweep their yards. I seem to remember them doing this especially hard on Saturdays. Back then chores had to be done and done well to get ready for Sunday.

Is Spring Cleaning on your mind? I know it is! You know we've had lots of home repairs going on here at Hibiscus House and they have made me see how many things I really don't need. I've been purging for awhile and will post updates shortly.
Storage Solutions for Each Room of the House
By Erin Holdgate
If your New Year's resolution is to live life more simply, decluttering your home is a great place to start. After you remove all the items you don’t use regularly, however, you may find yourself in need of extra storage — which you can create with a little rearranging.
Below are several examples of where and how to increase the storage capacity of your home.

This recipe has been around for so long you probably already have it but just in case you don't I'll share. I've come to find out that people in different sections of the country don't have some of what we think has been around so long everybody knows about it. Sharing today this easy, quick, go to dessert when time is limited. Not your from scratch recipe which is always best but a great substitute!

Today I'm taking a break from painting updates and sharing beautiful Camellias. Do you have some of these in your gardens? Mama had some beautiful ones and my sister Gwen does now. They are filled with blooms that are so spectacular. I love the fact that to me they look like trees filled with roses. Wayne a schoolmate of mine has allowed me to share his beauties with you today.
